<p>It is widely believed that Nakamoto owns roughly 1.1 million BTC, making up 5% of the coin&#8217;s circulating supply.</p>



<p>If <a href="https://intel.arkm.com/explorer/entity/satoshi-nakamoto">ranked </a>on Forbes&#8217; Real-Time Billionaires list, they would sit just below <strong>Microsoft </strong>founder <strong>Bill Gates</strong> and above Indian corporate titan <strong>Mukesh Ambani.</strong></p>



<p>Note that Nakamoto&#8217;s real identity remains a mystery and they could be a single person, a group of people or something else entirely.</p>

<p>His ex-girlfriend accidentally threw away a hard drive containing the Bitcoin stash, currently worth $740 million. It&#8217;s still sitting in a landfill. Howells has fought a lengthy legal battle to excavate the site, but with little success.</p>

<p>Speaking to Boardroom media at <strong>Coinbase&#8217;s </strong>annual State of Crypto Conference on Jul. 22, 2025, the Philadelphia Eagles star reminisced about a &#8220;funny&#8221; interaction with Saylor about how much to invest in Bitcoin.</p>



<p>&#8220;Throw it all in,&#8221; Saylor advised. Barkley wasn&#8217;t very sure of the idea at the time, but conceded in the interview that he should have probably &#8216;listened&#8217; to the Bitcoin bull.</p>

<p>Barkley said that he himself would never tell anyone how much to throw in.</p>



<p>&#8220;That&#8217;s not just only when it comes to crypto or when it comes to investing. It&#8217;s life. You got to educate yourself on stuff before you just step into it,&#8221; the Eagles running back said.</p>



<p>Barkley&#8217;s Bitcoin connection dates back to 2021, when he decided to <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/crypto/25/06/45986682/if-you-invested-1000-in-bitcoin-when-nfl-star-saquon-barkley-took-endorsement-money-in-btc-heres-how-much-youd-have-today">receive all his endorsement money</a> in the leading cryptocurrency. <p>Interestingly, since this interview, MSTR stock has lost over 60%, while Bitcoin has dropped 20%.</p>

<p><strong>Trader Notes:</strong> Crypto chart analyst Ali Martinez <a href="https://x.com/alicharts/status/2012154872062419198">said</a> Bitcoin appears to be in a bullish retest, consolidating just below the $100,000 mark. </p>



<p>He noted that holding above $94,555 is critical to preserve the bullish structure and keep the door open for a push into six-figure territory.</p>



<p>Crypto Tony <a href="https://x.com/CryptoTony__/status/2012217048990941392">said</a> bulls must reclaim $95,100 to regain near-term momentum after bears controlled the latest session. Failure to recover that level would leave downside pressure in place.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Why Gold Hit Extreme Levels</h3>



<p><strong>Gold</strong>, as measured by the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/GLD" target="_blank" class="ticker-link" data-ticker="GLD" data-exchange="ARCA" rel="noopener">(NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/GLD">GLD</a>)</a> rallied 166% from $1,600 to $4,300 since October 2022, <a href="https://www.ark-invest.com/articles/market-commentary/cathie-woods-2026-outlook">driven</a> by global wealth creation growing faster than gold&#8217;s supply.</p>



<p>Wood said gold&#8217;s price relative to the money supply has only been this expensive once in the past 125 years—during the Great Depression.</p>



<p>That ratio just surpassed its previous peak from 1980 when inflation and interest rates were in double digits, meaning gold is more expensive now than during the worst inflation crisis in modern history.</p>



<p>Here&#8217;s the kicker: after gold hit extreme valuations in 1934 and 1980, stocks crushed it for the next two decades. Equities returned 670% over 35 years and 1,015% over 21 years respectively.</p>



<p>Wood&#8217;s warning is simple—gold looks expensive at current levels while equities look positioned for a major run.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Wood&#8217;s Case For Bitcoin In 2026</h3>



<p>Bitcoin gained 360% since October 2022 while its supply only grew ~1.3% annually—and unlike gold, you can&#8217;t mine more Bitcoin when prices surge.</p>



<p>Gold miners respond to high prices by digging up more gold. Bitcoin&#8217;s supply is locked by code—it will grow just 0.82% per year for the next two years, then drop to 0.41% annually.</p>



<p>That scarcity advantage matters when demand increases.</p>



<p>Wood said Bitcoin doesn&#8217;t move with stocks, bonds, or gold, making it a true diversification tool. When one asset crashes, Bitcoin often moves independently—giving portfolios protection other assets can&#8217;t provide.</p>

<p>Price sits below the 100 EMA at $95,963 and 200 EMA at $99,502, unable to reclaim higher ground despite multiple attempts.</p>



<p>The triangle must resolve soon—each rally to $97,000 gets rejected, each dip to $92,000 gets bought.</p>
